Shortly after I joined Westminster Hour in January 2018, I developed a new social media strategy involving captioned videos, graphics and emojis. This helped Sunday night reach grow by more than 70% in two months. Since the programme's social output moved over to the main BBC Politics account, I have continued to lead on social media for Westminster Hour, turning some of our reports into digital videos and training other members of staff how to cut clips from our studio cameras. I wrote my first feature for the BBC News website in September 2020.
